HOLEP
Holmium Laser Enucleation of P rostate ( HOLEP ) requires very high end powerful Laser, the advantage with HOLEP is very big prostate can be removed with very minimal Blood Loss, patients with Co-mo rbid Diseases, Cardiac Problems, who are high risk for TURP, can also undergo this procedure, very few centres in India offer HOLEP.
LASER ENDOPYELOTOMY
Endopyelotomy is cutting of Stenosed PUJ, for PUJ Obstruction. Endopyelotomy is the treatment of Choice for Recurrent PUJ Obstruction, the results of Endopyelotomy are good when it is done With Laser & Recurrent Open Surgery anb he avoided.
TREATMENT FOR STRICTURE URETHRA
Narrowing of the external urinary passage (STRICTURE) can occur due to many reasons, may be present from birth in children or can occur in the adults due to inflammation or injuries. Previously open surgical procedures were required to remove these obstructions. Now we have special endoscopic instruments to remove these obstructions by laser without open surgery. Very rarely open surgery known as URETHROPLASTY may be required.
Patient will require placement of a tube for a few days after removal patient will be able to pass out urine easily.
TREATMENT FOR PROSTATIC OBSTRUCTION
Some Times the obstruction may be at the level of bladder outlet, due to bladder neck stenosis or prostatic enlargement or Prostatic cancer. Endoscopic removal of such obstructions will also be possible without open surgery
Conventional Trans urethral resection of the Prostate and resection with laser are done very frequently for the past so many decades. Patients have very good free flow of urine after these procedures.
TREATMENT FOR CANCER PROSTATE
These days, there is increased incidence of Cancer of the Prostate causing obstruction to the urinary bladder emptying. Special investigation procedures like Biopsy of the prostate and appropriate treatment procedures based on the Biopsy report are done as a routine.
